In the three-book The Story of Science series, master storyteller Joy Hakim narrates the evolution of scientific thought from ancient times to the present. With lively, character-driven narrative, Hakim spotlights the achievements of some of the world's greatest scientists and encourages a similar spirit of inquiry in readers. About Joy Hakim:
Joy Hakim has been a teacher in Syracuse, New York; Omaha, Nebraska; and Virginia Beach, Virginia; teaching elementary school, middle school, high school, and in a community college. She has also been a newspaper woman, a general reporter, a business reporter, and an associate editor and editorial writer at Norfolk's Virginian-Pilot. Hakim earned a bachelor’s degree at Smith College and a master’s of education as well as an honorary doctorate at Goucher College. Author of the prize-winning series A History of US, Joy Hakim is the recipient of the NSTA/CBC’s Outstanding Science Trade Books for Students K-12, James Michener Award in Writing, and the Gold and Silver Parents’ Choice Awards in Writing.
